PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kennedy Place is an 11-story, 58,000 square foot Dormitory located adjacent to the main campus. It includes 122 single apartments and 30 double occupancy units; each studio apartment with private bedroom, dedicated kitchen and bathroom. The residence hall also has a central laundry facility, card access to the building, a large community room with exterior seating and a flower garden.

Project challenges included a narrow building footprint (a 43 foot wide floor plate). The structural design was complicated by a desire to preserve the existing historic oak tree and its proximity to the adjacent urban context. ARC3’s responsibilities on the project included design development, construction documents and construction administration.
